Our time in Singapore...then back to Canberra...

Hi Everyone!!

Sorry to have MIAed for so long as we have been spending time with family & friends as well as loading up on local food...

The whole time we were back, about 1 month, I cooked only 3 times...so you can imagine how much fats, sodium & msg we have been eating...

But it was great to feast on laksa, prata, chicken rice, wanton mee..etc...(making my mouth waters again!!!)

(oh I just tried cooking laksa last nite for dinner and it was yummy!)

It was great meeting up with friends whom we have not met for half a year...as well as family members whom we missed....
All were so excited to see how much Tim has grown....

Finally, we are back on Canberra..the weather here is indeed cold, especially when we juz returned from Singapore...we need to adapt once again..

It was so cold that we needed to buy another heater for our room..

We have kind of unpacked our stuffs and got more stuffs from our friends, the Andersons Family, who have left to go back to the US..

We are now into our 2nd week and life is pretty much back to normal...I have started to bake...baked cornflake cookies...we went swimming last Friday, and we are going again this evening...(tim loves to swim and so do I)

Enjoy the photos!!!

Tim's 1st Birthday...

25th of May 2006 is Tim's 1st Birthday!

We came back from Canberra especially to celebrate his first birthday with our relatives and friends.

He had 4 celebrations in all..

The very first one was held at our place on the actual day. Tert's parents, brother, grandma, aunt and cousin Sheryl were here.

The second one was held , again, at our place with the Yfers as well as my best friend, Connie and her bf, Weimin.

The third one was held at my aunt's place, together with my relatives. Tim celebrated together with Uncle Chong Zhi & Uncle Yuan Qi.

The last one was held at a chalet, together with Tert's relatives and Tim had his first stay at the chalet that night.

It was indeed a tiring week for Terence & I!
We hope that all of you enjoyed yourselves and thanks for coming...

Shanghai - 12 to 23 May 06

We left for Shanghai on the 12th of May, in the late afternoon and reached there in the night. We went there with my 4th Aunty & cousin Jean.

It was raining and the weather was quite cooling. It was inviting, after being hot and sweaty for 2 days in our homeland.

It was nice to see my parents after a long time and they were very happy to see Tim, especially my dad. (My mum visited us for 2 months from Feb to April)

We stayed at my parents' apartment so that really helped us to save on accommodations.

The first few days, my parents brought us shopping.  We visited a street, Dong Jia Du, that is near their apt. There were alot of stallsm eateries and shophouses along that street.

On Sunday, we went to the infamous Xiang Yang Jie, where all kinds of imitation goods are sold. All of us bought so many things. I bought alot of winter clothings for Terence & myself and clothes for Timmy too. We didn't manage to finish the place and even went the second time on the following Friday.

On Monday, my aunt wanted to tailor make a suit. So we went to this textile centre. We chanced upon this chops that tailor made shirts. The designs were so plentiful that I made 6 shirts and 2 skirts. And they were cheap too... :P

The next few days, Tim fell sick so we stayed home and let him rest.

On Friday, Dad took leave and we went to Xiang Yang Jie for retail shopping again...shiok man!! I spent all my $$$...and Dad had to pay for my rest of shopping...Thanks Dad!

Over the weekend , we ate and ate...and shop and shop....

I even went for hairwash thrice in a week! It's so cheap, only S$2-4 and they will massage your scalp for almost 30-45 mins and blow dry after that...really pampering...:)

On the last day - Tuesday, my aunt & I wanted to go for massage before leaving but they opened late...so i went for my final hairwash...almost late for the airport....

It was great to come home as we missed Tert lots!!

What Happened in May???

Hi Everyone!!!

We are back in Singapore...We'll be here for about a month before heading back to Canberra at the end of June.

Sorry to have MIAed for the past month...alot of things happened and I was too busy to update. Now I managed to sit down and update all of you of all the things that we'd gone thru....

Before we left Canberra, we met up with some friends for dinner. We met the Andersons for tea and they are helping us to take care of our car during this time we are away.

We met up with a few Singaporean friends - Sharon, Tushara & Sean for dinner at our place.
Tushara is helping to take care of our Mint Plant. :P

We left Canberra on the 9th of May and headed to Sydney for a night. We had a morning flight so we had to stay in Sydney. Tim & I flew back to Singapore on 10 May and stayed at Terence's parents place for 2 nights before heading to Shanghai.

The flight back was smooth and Tim behaved rather well. I was so anxious in the beginning as I was afraid that he wouldn't be able to take the air pressure, but he surprised me! He took it so well and was so at ease crawling and moving about the cabin. (Thank God we had 4 seats to ourselves so he had the space in front to crawl about.)

When we reached Singapore, we were welcomed by the warm air as we stepped out from the plane. Arghh...I missed Canberra at that very moment...

When we were at my in-laws place, Tim couldn't get used to the place as well as the weather. He was constantly perspiring, and followed me everywhere I went. (I could only bathe after he fell asleep.)

After 2 days, we left for Shanghai on 12 May. Before we left, my uncle treated us (and other relatives) to a seafood lunch...Yummy...(considering that we hardly ate seafood in Canberra)

PS I will write about Shanghai in the next blog.

After coming back from Shanghai on 23 May, we celebrated Tim's birthday on the 25th, 27th(2 parties) and 28th. He had a total of 4 parties for his 1st birthday!!!!

PS Check out the blog after Shanghai.
